Burlington has launched a new initiative called Love My Neighbourhood as a way to celebrate Burlington’s 150th birthday. The mayor is hoping that there are 150 events to mark this milestone and to celebrate Burlington’s heritage. Residents who would like to put on a neighbourhood event can use this money towards insurance, booking a talent or more.
The Love My Neighbourhood Program will provide a one-time grant per neighbourhood, resident, street section, condominiums or apartment group to host a gathering or ongoing activity. There are a limited number of grants and several guidelines for eligibility, such as what the money can be put towards, who can apply (Burlington residents only), insurance guidelines, etc.
Applications should be submitted at least 6 weeks in advance of your event date and 8 weeks minimum if you’re planning to host on public holidays such as Victoria Day, or Canada Day.
They encourage you to celebrate with your neighbours, get to know your neighbourhood, and enjoy a day or week(s) of fun.
